FARM (Kindergarten and 1st grades)

The Farm Softball Division, for Kindergarten and 1st grade players, introduces the basics of softball in a fun, low-pressure environment. With no scorekeeping or playoffs, the focus is on learning skills like base running, throwing, and batting, while rotating positions each inning. Coaches provide guidance and ensure every player gets a chance to bat. The season emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game, helping young players develop essential skills and confidence in a supportive setting. It’s the perfect start for kids to enjoy softball, make new friends, and build a foundation for future growth.

LOWER MINORS  (2nd grade)

The Lower Minors Softball Division is for 2nd grade girls, offering a fun and supportive environment with a touch of friendly competition. Players refine skills like base running, hitting, and fielding, while learning about balls, strikes, outs, and scorekeeping.  Players rotate positions and begin to learn to hit off kid pitch. Games include scorekeeping, standings, and playoffs, with a four-run limit per inning (except the last). The focus is on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, helping players build confidence and prepare for more competitive play in future seasons. It’s a great way to learn the game, make friends, and have fun!

UPPER MINORS (3rd and 4th grade)
The Minor Softball Division, for 3rd and 4th grade girls, builds on the skills learned in Lower Minors in a more competitive but still fun environment. Players are introduced to more advanced pitching, stealing, and playing against teams from other towns, with games involving scorekeeping, standings, and playoffs. Pitching starts each inning, and coaches step in if needed. Focus areas include pitching, batting, stealing (at 3rd base), base running, and defensive play. Games are 6 innings with a four-run limit per inning, and all teams make the playoffs. While competition increases, the emphasis remains on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, offering girls a chance to grow as players and athletes.
Games are played Tuesdays, Thursdays and/or Sundays against other towns within a 20 mile radius

JUNIORS (5th and 6th grade)
The Juniors Softball Division, for 5th and 6th grade girls, offers a more competitive environment, while still emphasizing development and sportsmanship.  Players build on their skills in areas like advanced pitching, base running, bunting, and positioning, while continuing to develop their swing mechanics and fielding. The focus is on improvement and teamwork, with players facing stronger competition and gaining experience through travel games. Coaches provide guidance to help players grow in a more competitive setting, and all teams compete in playoffs for the championship. This division is perfect for players with 1-2 years of experience who are ready to take their game to the next level.
Games are typically played on Mondays/Wednesdays and/or Sundays against other towns within a 20 mile radius.

SENIOR DIVISION (7th-12th grade)
The Senior Softball Division is for 7th-12th grade girls (excluding Varsity players) and focuses on competitive play while continuing skill development and growth. Players refine advanced skills like pitching, hitting, base running, bunting, and fielding, with an emphasis on situational strategy. As part of the Old Silver Lake League (OSLL), teams travel to play against other towns within a 20-mile radius. The division aims to challenge players to improve through competitive games, coaching, and individual feedback, while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
